About J. R. Milward

Hi, and welcome to my humble blog. Pull up a coffee and pour yourself a comfy chair.

This blog is (supposedly) dedicated to the art of storytelling. It does tend to ramble quite a bit more than is healthy. In fairness, the majority of these ramblings focus on the craft of writing, but be prepared for some deviations, hesitations, and meanderings as we wander along the twisty path…

My name is Jennifer Milward, alias Greenkey2. I have a certain amount of nerdoriety in the Tomb Raider community, both for unofficial voiceovers and fanfiction. My reputation extends to champion coffee-drinking, rescuing cats, and being entirely too fascinated with anything that grows, bleeds, or crawls around in the leaf litter. My interesting acronyms include a BSc (Hons) Open, and Associate Member of the Royal Society of Biology (AMRSB), but I’m also a proud alumni of Unseen University (UU), and once won a pair of fluffy dinosaur slippers in a supermarket raffle. Beat THAT, mortals.

My website, with free story downloads – including my full-length novelisation of Tomb Raider: The Angel of Darkness – can be found here: http://jrmilward.co.uk/

If you have any questions, comments, feedback, or need signs for the toilets, don’t hesitate to get in touch. All cupcake donations gratefully received.

My name is Bridget McBride, and I recently saw you as a special guest on a Tomb Raider: Angel of Darkness speedrun. I found your comments witty and insightful, and enjoyed the viewpoints you brought to the video. I was curious about your novelisation of the video game and have been reading it nonstop since! It really is fantastic, and I’ve enjoyed how you’ve humanized Lara Croft as this strong and incredibly able woman who is still capable, as we all are, of doubting herself. You mentioned in the video that you have a couple of hard copies available, and I was wondering if you would be willing to send me one. Is this possible?

I am truly enjoying the work and would love to have a copy for my bookshelf. Regardless, thank you for doing what you do, and I look forward to reading your other works!

    Thank you for your time.

  3. Hello Ms. Milward,

I just finished watching the Brotherhood of Gaming speedrun today and I visited your website. Like you, I’ve been in love with The Angel of Darkness and its story for the longest time, ever since I was a teen and I bought the PC game. Since I didn’t have the necessary requirements on my PC to play the game, I became frustrated and obsessed myself with the cutscenes since they were the only thing I had access to. I actually had recurring dreams of me being the only human on earth who didn’t have the game. Eventually, I began writing my own novelization of the story. It was a horrible attempt, but I became an author as a result. When I finally played the game, it lived up to my expectations despite the harsh criticism. I would really appreciate it if you could send me a hard copy of the book if possible.

    Thank you so much,

    Moe Shalabi
